Liz: I had this boss for 16 years. I am an alpha male who is respectful. Thus he used my respect for myself and others against me and installed himself in my brain, causing a whole bunch of pain, confusion, self doubt…all fooled by his accursed mind game. And he is so shallow and self possessed that it was never deep on his end…he was just using my nice nature to play with me, his toy. I moved 12 miles out of town, I became an escape artist at work, I had a never ending set of “emergencies” to say no to his remands (requests which were just his demands) I could get ill at the drop of a hat to avoid any interaction. His usual statement was “Hey-we gotta….and then he would fill in his demand du jour, which were just his desired manipulations. Terrible I had to do this as Alphas just punch in the face of antagonist and move on…as the article says..I had to finesse my way out. My biggest regrets were that I was not able to confront him directly and disrespectfully: Which would have fed his supply of emotion in others and given him ammunition against me for the rest of our relationship. But I disrespected myself by letting a ruined person dominate me….that is the cognitive disruption, and I am forever really white hot mad at myself for not shoving it down his little throat. But my larger nature prevailed, and he never got this satisfaction. So I win by losing, I lose by winning.
