They don’t want you when you’re down or struggling. But when you’re up, they try to inch their way back into your inner circle and life by coming out of the wood works speaking through other people and keeping tabs on your progress, such as grades, life success, your net worth, what relationships you have with others, etc. They feel some kind of way for letting you go and it bothers their spirit quietly when they discover you’re doing good without them and still doing the transformation work, out of inspiration or desperation.
